The ARC Research Team
The Atlanta Research Center (ARC) is staffed by
a team of dedicated medical professionals. The research team’s
mission is to conduct the highest quality medical research safely
and efficiently.
Paula Thompson, LPN, Julie Underwood, Jennifer
Elston, Emily Kuhnmuench, and Bonnie Woodson are our research
nurses.
These nurses are responsible for all aspects of
the specific research studies.
Grattan Woodson, M.D., FACP is ARC’s Medical
Director and the center’s Principal Investigator.
Timothy Watts, MD serves as the center’s
Sub-Investigator.
These doctors are responsible for performing
all study related medical evaluations and most importantly, oversee
patient safety.
The ARC staff is always available to the
center’s research volunteers. Our regular and emergency number is
(404) 298-9951 and may be called 24 hours per day 7 days each week.

Database:
Patient demographic, past
medical history, and all DXA measurements on over 8000 patients have
been stored electronically in the Osteo Report® Database. This
relational database product permits custom searches for any
combination of patient data allowing identification of patients with
specific protocol inclusion criteria.
Bone Biopsy Services:
Our Medical
Director, Dr. Woodson, is skilled in the performance of iliac crest
bone biopsy suitable for static and dynamic bone histomorphometry.
Dr. Woodson has performed this procedure since 1985 in connection
with the clinical evaluation of patients with metabolic bone disease
as well as for Clinical Research Protocols.
